2022 has already been another busy and exciting year for the British Engineering Services Group.  As we continue to focus on our customers and our people, 2023 is set to be just as busy.

Ongoing growth to help ensure we can always give our customers the very best testing, inspection, certification and compliance (TICC) services will continue to be a focus for our company.  To help us deliver this in the most effective way, we are pleased to share that we have welcomed two new people to our senior team.

John Lennox has joined us as Group Chief Operating Officer.  He will be instrumental in helping ensure we are always delivering against our customer’s needs.  He is looking forward to leading an extended team that works alongside our customers to ensure we are focused on their TICC priorities, with no compromise.

Walter Rowe has also joined us as Group Technical Director.  Walter will have overall responsibility for driving a number of our business objectives including ensuring the safety and security of our customers, people and assets.

Our Senior Team

Both John and Walter will report directly to John Campbell, who joined us as Group CEO earlier this year.  James Reeves, Group Chief Financial Officer, Hannah Mather, Group HR Director, John Breheny, Group Corporate Development Director and Paul Trivett, Interim Group Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, will work alongside John and Walter as the Group’s Senior Executive Leadership Team, also reporting to John Campbell.

Both this and our wider senior team continue to be extremely important to our business.  They are instrumental in delivering the very best customer experience and we’re proud to have them onboard.  We look forward to working closely with our customers, as always, over the coming weeks, months, and years!

We’re excited to welcome James Reeves to the British Engineering Services group as Group Chief Financial Officer.

James comes to us from international insurance company, Liberty Specialty Markets, where he spent more than seven years in senior roles, including his most recent position as Deputy Chief Financial Officer.  He is both extremely experienced in our sector and has been heavily involved in Liberty’s strategic activity including their significant organic and acquisition driven growth.  We know this will be beneficial in helping us deliver our plans for 2022 and beyond as we continue to grow our Group.

Before joining Liberty, James spent six years with RSA Insurance where he first developed his understanding of the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry. During this time, he was instrumental in helping expand their European offering, positioning businesses for profit and implementing a new financial control framework.

On top of his day-to-day CFO role, James has also joined our Executive Team.  He will be involved in helping shape the future of our company as we continue to position ourselves for a brilliant future.

“We are delighted to have James on the team.  His experience and skillset speak for themselves, and this combined with his customer focus, extensive experience working with brokers and his energy and enthusiasm makes him a great fit for our business,” said Stewart Kay, Group CEO.

“It’s fantastic to be joining the British Engineering Services Group at such an exciting time.  Their plans for the coming years are impressive and I’m delighted to be playing a part in delivering the very best service for our customers,” said James.
